Halloween 2017 News: Most Kids to Dress as Superheroes for Trick-or-Treat
Tomorrow, October 31, is that time of year when kids go knocking on strangers' doors and asking for sweet treats as they are garbed in their costumes: Halloween. While kids can easily pull off any costume they wear for the highly anticipated perennial event, it is expected that most will don superhero costumes tomorrow.
According to reports, the data of National Retail Federation have revealed that 10 of the most popular costumes that kids will wear as they go trick-or-treating on Halloween this year include action/superhero, Batman, princess, animal (cat, dog, monkey), Spider-Man, Star Wars character, witch, Marvel superhero (excluding Spider-Man), pirate, and Disney princess.
Based on the data, 3.7 million children plan to wear superhero costumes, and, while Batman is a superhero himself, he is not included in the data as 2.9 million children have signified a specific interest in donning their own version of the Dark Knight's cowl and cape. However, not everybody intends to be a superhero as they go trick-or-treating as 2.9 million children will dress as princesses and 2.2 million will dress as an animal, according to the National Retail Foundation.

While a Batman costume is expected to be the most popular among young boys tomorrow, it is suspected that the most popular superhero costume for girls will be Wonder Woman. While some girls already wore their Wonder Woman costumes last year in an anticipation of the then upcoming solo "Wonder Woman" movie starring Gal Gadot, it is expected that more will wear the Amazonian Warrior Princess' armor this year given the commercial and critical success of the movie.
Meanwhile, Halloween is not only about costumes, trick or treat, or a Halloween party. As the day draws, near, more Halloween jokes circulate online. While this season can be the perfect time to poke fun at some of the supposed scary characters, there are also jokes that may answer on whether there should be an age limit for trick-or-treating, such as the one below:
"How do you know when you're too old to Trick or Treat?
You get winded from knocking on the door.
You're the only Power Ranger in the neighborhood with a walker.
When the door opens you yell, 'Trick ...' and can't remember the rest.
