'Halo 5' DLC News, Updates: 'Classic Helmet' Pack Released; Two Arena Playlists Removed

343 Industries' shooting game "Halo 5" just released its new "Classic Helmet" Pack on Thursday, Feb. 9, along with a brand new trailer.

According to GameSpot, the "Classic Helmet" pack features nine different helmets that were worn by Master Chief throughout the game's history. All nine helmets are not sold individually, so buying the whole pack for $10 is the only option available for interested players. The pack can also be purchased using in-game currency for 150,000 RP.

The helmets are classified as rare, ultra rare and legendary. The Mark V Delta helmet, however, is the only one classified as legendary, while three helmets - Military Police, Recon Gen 1 and EVA Gen 1 - are tagged as ultra rare. All the other remaining helmets are classified as rare.

In other news, 343 Industries announced through a blog post that they have decided to remove Arena playlists Triple Team and Shotty Snipers from matchmaking temporarily. These will be replaced with "rotational playlists."

The developer cited the lack of population in these playlists, saying, "We know there are players who enjoy the gameplay these two playlists offer but overall each of these hoppers attracts a tiny fraction of the online population and as a result can't really sustain a permanent position in matchmaking."

According to a separate report on GameSpot, the new playlists in place are quite literally rotational, in a sense that these playlists will come and go. Through this, the developer aims to keep fresh interest among players and allow them the opportunity to explore new ideas and additions in the gaming community.

"These decisions will be driven by usage data in addition to fan feedback and generally monitoring what the community is actively building in Forge and playing in custom games," the developers further explained to the media outlet.

343 Industries is also set to release a new addition to the "Halo" franchise, "Halo Wars 2," on Feb. 21 for Xbox One and PC.
