'Halo 5: Guardians' Release Date Xbox One: First in Series to Be Rated T, Surprise UFC Cameo Revealed

For the first time since four versions, the latest installment of the game "Halo" has been rated T for Teens by the ESRB, the main U.S. games classification body. "Halo 5: Guardians" is the first one to ever been rated below M for Mature and it earned its T rating with the description blood, mild language and violence from ESRB.

As noted in VG 24/7, the result of the rating is quite perplexing as it doesn't sound particularly different from the organization's assessment of past "Halo" games. Gamers think that perhaps "Halo" has changed or ESRB has loosened up a bit. A description of the game by ESRB was is as follows:

"Players use pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers, and futuristic weapons to kill alien and human enemies in frenetic combat. Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire, explosions, and occasional blood-splatter effects. Characters can also use 'assassinations' to kill characters by snapping their necks, or by stabbing them with bladed weapons."

Gamers believe that nothing much is different from past games in the series. PEGI has not yet rated Halo 5. It handed out 16+ ratings to Halo 4 and Halo 3.

Meanwhile, the developers from 343 Industries have set a surprise for the fans as they have revealed during a backstage demo at Gamescom 2015 that Xbox One shooter "Halo 5: Guardians" will include a cameo from reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum. The mixed martial artist is reported to be an avid fan of the series.

A clarification about Werdum's cameo was made by Microsoft.

"Fabricio Werdum makes a small cameo appearance in Halo 5: Guardians. He's a big fan of Halo and we're big fans of his, so it's always fun when these kinds of things work out," said a Microsoft spokesperson. He then compared the cameo of the champ to an Easter egg which the players will really need to look for while playing.

"Halo 5: Guardians" will be available in store shelves on Oct. 27 exclusively for the Xbox One.
