The man who abducted 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, also "tortured and killed" her mother and brother before taking the teenager, formerly sealed warrants revealed after they were released Wednesday.
The warrants did not detail specifically the type of torture that was administered, but they did state how authorities think James Lee DiMaggio perpetrated his crimes.
"DiMaggio tortured and killed his best friend's wife and eight-year-old son. DiMaggio also shot and killed the family dog," according to one of the affidavits. "After the double homicide, DiMaggio set the house on fire."
The affidavits were released on the same day that a preliminary autopsy revealed that DiMaggio sustained five gunshot wounds that were inflicted by an FBI tactical agent when they approached the two in the Idaho wilderness this past weekend.
The shootout put an end to a manhunt that spread across several states that began after police discovered the remains of Hannah's mother and brother.
After being rescued Anderson is now speaking out about the horrendous ordeal that left her mother and brother dead and her kidnapped by a family friend. Anderson is posting photos online and writing about the ordeal in lieu of appearing on television.
Multiple reports have stated that Hannah is using her ask.fm account to answer questions and explain what happened during the six days she was with kidnapper James DiMaggio. However, law enforcement officials have said that while they are aware of the posts, they cannot confirm or deny that the account belongs to Hannah.
"He [James DiMaggio] told us he was losing his house because of money issues so we went up there one last time to support him, and to have fun riding go-karts up there, but he tricked us," Hannah posted on her ask.fm account, which allows users to ask and answer questions from others online.
"I'm just still shocked and this (whole) thing seems unreal," Hannah wrote.
