'Hannibal' News, Update: Series Developer Bryan Fuller Reveals Season 4 Plans

The show may already be over, but Bryan Fuller, the series developer of the hit psychological thriller drama "Hannibal" believes there's still a lot of story to tell about the cannibalistic doctor (Mads Mikkelsen). In fact, he has already planned everything should a Season 4 have come to fruition.

In an interview with Alan Sepinwall from HitFix (via Collider.com), Fuller revealed that if the series were to be picked up by another distributor or network, he would love to continue with the "Silence of the Lambs" arc.

"The season 4 that we were going to tell is such a restart and reimagining that I still hope in some way that we get to tell a version of that, if not Silence of the Lambs itself, as a miniseries," he told the website (via Collider).

Of course, the Will (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal relationship, "the most interesting aspect of this story," according to him, would have seen a "rebranding" in Season 4.

In a separate interview with Crave Online (via International Business Times) Fuller went on to add that the "Halt and Catch Fire" star Lee Pace would be his actor of choice for the role of the serial killer Buffalo Bill.

The character in question was played by Ted Levine in the 1991 film adaptation of the Thomas Harris' novel of the same name.

Jame Gumb, as he was also known, kidnaps overweight women and skins them so that he can make a "woman suit" for himself.

For the Clarice Starling part, Fuller would have opted "the Ellen Page way" in casting for the role. However, he added that "I would also like to explore who Clarice would be from a different racial background."

When probed further by the publication if Hannibal (Mikkelsen) will remain his attention to Will (Dancy) or divert it to Clarice, Fuller only responded that it "all depends on how Season 4 would have ended."

Jodie Foster starred as Clarice in "Silence of the Lambs" alongside Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Lecter.
