'Hannibal' Season 3 Release Date News: New Season Air Date 'Should be Soon'
The waiting game drags on for the return of the hit psycho thriller drama TV series "Hannibal."
Much to the slight disappointment of the show's fans, it was found out that its premiere date has been pushed back to the summer which extends further the hiatus by several months.
The series' production company, the Delaurentiis Company, took to their social media to offer fans the much anticipated update.
"We dreamed all night long about the @NBCHannibal S3 premiere date," the tweet read. "#Hannibal #WeAreReady."
The site went on to specify that the date they would prefer would be "on a Tuesday," however, it is still not confirmed if that would fall in line with what NBC plans.
Fortunately, show co-producer Loretta Ramos joined in the Twitter conversation to assure everyone that the wait wouldn't be that long anymore.
"No word yet, but should be soon -- hang in there!" Ramos answered a fan's query.
As for what to expect when "Hannibal" returns to the small screen, Screen Rant cited showrunner Bryan Fuller indicating that Season 3 will largely be based from Thomas Harris' novels.
"Season 3 is going to be a lot of fun because it's going to be taking a lot of disparate elements from the novel Hannibal Rising and the novel Hannibal and mashing them up together as part of the thrust of the season. It's going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season," Fuller explained. "I will brace everybody right now: We're significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising."
