Have You Ever Been Treated Unfairly? Try Looking at The Word of God for Help to Overcome Resentment

Throughout our lives we are going to feel that we might have been treated unfairly in a situation. Not everything in life is going to go the way we want it to. When being mistreated spans over a long period of time, we may find ourselves struggling with resentment.

We often find ourselves resenting others due to insults, bad words, and injustice. But, if we let this linger in our lives it can cause havoc. It can cause us to hurt internally and hurt those around us. Our actions rub off on others even if they are not the cause of the pain. When this happens we must look to a higher power for guidance. The word of God can help us overcome the resentment we may feel.

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God" (Colossians 3:1).

"We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized" (Hebrews 6:11).

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21).

"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Luke 12:6-7).

"Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done" (2 Timothy 4:14).

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins" (Mark 11:25).

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:28-29).
