'Hawaii Five-O' Cast, Plot News: NFL Legend Jerry Rice to Run Into McGarret and the Team in Season 6
Yet another big name is coming over for the upcoming sixth season of CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "Hawaii Five-O."
According to a casting update from Entertainment Weekly, National Football League Hall of Famer Jerry Rice will be appearing as himself in Season 6.
The former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver will particularly debut on the show's fourth episode where he "runs into the Five-O team where McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and the gang are relaxing after a hard day of catching Hawaii's bad buys," the site wrote.

For the meantime Hawaii Five-O's showrunner Peter Lenkov appears to be pleased to have the 52-year-old athlete coming on board.
"Jerry Rice is an NFL legend, as well as just an outstanding gentleman, and we are so glad to have him join the Five-0 ohana for this episode," the executive producer. "And considering McGarrett and Chin's [Daniel Dae Kim] former glory days of high school football and the team's annual football games, perhaps Jerry can give them a few pointers."
On related news, the cast and crew of the CBS program began production at the beginning of last month. They kicked off the event with a traditional blessing ceremony.
As for the plot of Season 6, earlier reports indicated that the new installment will pick up after the events of Season 5. Plot rumors also indicated that there's going to be a story in the early part of the season that would involve a hidden treasure.
"Hawaii Five-O" Season 6 premieres Sept. 25 on CBS.
