At the moment, they are sixth in the league with 53 points, and they are six points behind Fiorentina with only 12 points available for Milan to gain.
They are hoping that they can win as much as they can and hope they Fiorentina drop some points in order for that gap to close.
However, Milan are not making things easier for them as they have only won one in their last seven league games – with half of those ending in draws.
Their defeats to Atalanta and Juventus have dealt major blows to their hopes of making it to the UEFA Europa League spots but they still have a chance to rebound – but they need to win against Hellas Verona.
On the other side of the fence, Verona are 20th in the league and are facing relegation.
At 22 point so far this season, Verona need all 12 points available to them and hope that the teams above them fail to register any point in order for them to climb out of the drop zone.
It may be next to impossible to happen, but Verona need to maintain focus and keep on winning to boost their morale and hope that the other teams slide off.
Unfortunately, they too have struggled as of late and have lost four of their last five games.
Their last victory was a 1-0 win over Bologna and they are trying to get maximum points against a far superior squad.
