Hidden Duck Hunt Duo Amiibo Found in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Reveals On-Disc Data Ready for Release

Nintendo's Super Smash Bros for Wii U apparently has a lot of contents in store for its fans. However, recent gaming news indicated that some players may have already found their way into the game's stash of secret amiibo.

A report from NintendoLife.com pointed out YouTuber Mema Haxx uncovering the data for a Duck Hunt figure - otherwise known as the Duck Hunt Duo in Europe – which shows the famous duck and dog combo.

In the video, you will find out that the game did register the figurine.

According to Nintendo Life: "like equivalent NFC experiences such as Skylanders, data for amiibo interaction is waiting in the software that needs to be activated by the relevant toy; if an NFC card or chip is hacked, it could be possible to trick the game into thinking a specific toy is being scanned - if true, this video shows that the Duck Hunt data is in place."

Other gaming websites meanwhile said that the Nintendo built in infrastructure is possibly one of the cancelled Amiibo or that the video could simply have been mocked up.

Later this week, Nintendo Life went on to update their article to feature yet another Wii U hacker making his way into the game's set up code.

To quell any impending doubts, the YouTube user posted a much rather longer video featuring a certain "Mr. Game & Watch." The user then shows how the amiibo is created, edited, and leveled up while saving its progress at the end.

"It's more thorough proof that this hack is legitimate, naturally, with the hacker no doubt using a modded NFC chip to trick the game into detecting the unconfirmed, unreleased amiibo figure," the magazine explained.

This goes to show that there are in fact several on-disc data of unrevealed amiibo already sitting and ready for a market release.
