Hilarie Burton Pregnancy, Due Date News: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reveals Wife Is Expecting a Baby Girl

Following actress Hilarie Burton's first public appearance with her baby bump, it seems like her husband and "The Walking Dead" star Jeffrey Dean Morgan does not plan to keep the child's gender a secret for too long.

Last week, Us Weekly confirmed that the couple is expecting their second child. The "One Tree Hill" alum was seen with her baby bump when she and her husband attended the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Despite Morgan being an extremely private person, he surprised the crowd at the recent "Supernatural" convention in New Jersey when he let it slip that Burton is having a baby girl. They also have a 7-year-old son named Augustus.

Apart from starring in "The Walking Dead," the actor also plays John Winchester in The CW's "Supernatural."

Shortly after accidentally revealing the secret, he reportedly told her right away and luckily, she was okay with it. Morgan also posted about the slip-up on Instagram, with a photo of himself looking very shocked about what he had done.

"I texted @hilarieburton right after I spilled the little girl beans... and, as usual... she was a rockstar," he wrote in the caption. "After all these years she's come to expect me to be a dope... thank god she gets it, and loves me regardless," he added.

According to E! News, it was the 51-year-old actor's simple gesture of touching his wife's belly while on the red carpet at the Emmys that sparked speculations about another baby on the way. It was confirmed right away a day after.

The couple has been together since 2009, and they welcomed their first child in 2010. Morgan and Burton also co-own a candy shop called Samuel's Sweet Shop, together with Paul Rudd, in Rhinebeck, New York.

In other news, Morgan will be seen again as the antagonist named Negan on television screens when "The Walking Dead" returns for a brand new season on Oct. 22 on AMC.
