Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie Divorce News, Update: Actress Files for Divorce After 2 Years Separated
Actress and singer Hilary Duff has reportedly filed for divorce from estranged husband Mike Comrie.
TMZ on Saturday reporter that the "Beat of My Heart" performer has officially filed for divorce the morning after Comrie was allegedly spotted while intoxicated in Beverly Hills.
The media outlet went on to say that the 27-year-old star hired attorney Laura Wasser for the needed legal assistance in the filing of the legal documents where she cited "the usual irreconcilable differences" as the primary reason for the divorce. TMZ also said that Duff lists the date of separation as January 2013.
Sources for the gossip website claimed that the documents asks for "primary physical custody" of their son, Luca, from the Canadian NHL player.
The couple, who married in August 2010, had reportedly signed a pre-nup when they wed. However, it appears that neither of them is struggling financially.
January of last year, Comrie and Duff announced to the public that they had "amicably separated" and would continue to co-parent their son.
"We're constantly seen together and people are like, 'What are they doing? Are they back together? Are they not?' We're really good friends and we have so much respect for each other and obviously Luca is our No. 1 priority," Duff told E! News.
"They're better friends than a married couple," Hilary's mother said.
