Homeless People Read Mean Tweets to Shed Light on Social Problems
Homelessness is tragic issue that affects so many. When you are comfortable, warm and cozy in your house it's easy to forget or look down on those who aren't. In this video, homeless people are given a tablet and read over tweets people have wrote about them.
These homeless people were in shock when they started to read over the tweets that talked down toward them. This PSA was released by Raise the Roof, as an effort to humanize homelessness. One thing that people never realize is that a lot of the homeless population is disabled or mentally ill and become homeless because they have nowhere to go for help. People are given so many blessings and don't know what these people have gone through.
Additionally, others are homeless due to things that fell apart in their lives. Or even mistakes that they made, and unfortunately didn't have someone to help. They're real people with real feelings, just like you and me.
