Honduras vs Panama takes place on Tuesday night with qualification for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil at stake. This will be an important game for both teams and they will be hoping to claim all three points from today's clash. It's still all very much to play for in the World Cup Qualifiers, and both of these teams still have the opportunity to claim a top three spot in the CONCACAF qualification table.

Only the top three teams will automatically gain a spot in the 32-team tournament next summer, while the fourth place side will have to play New Zealand in a two-legged playoff – which is something all the teams will be hoping to avoid if they can by getting into the top three positions instead.

Honduras currently sit in third place in the table with 10 points in seven games. That means they will be unable to guarantee their World Cup spot tonight, but will be just one win away from qualifying if they win tonight and Mexico loses against the United States.

However, a loss to Panama will change thing – that result combined with a Mexican win over the United Stated could potentially put Honduras back into fourth place with only two games remaining, and would leave them just hanging on.

Meanwhile, Panama desperately need the three points too; they sit in fifth place in the CONCACAF table, after gaining just seven points in seven games. They are just one point behind Mexico for the playoff spot in fourth.

If Panama manages a win against Honduras and Mexico loses against the United States, then they would climb to third place.
