'House of Cards' Season 3 Release Date, News: The Underwoods Are Survivors, Not Murderers

Netflix is ready to blow 2015 as they release the newest trailer for one of its most popular and critically-acclaimed drama series "House of Cards." Shown right after the Golden Globes affair, the recently-unveiled teaser for the third season of the hit political hit series instantly grabbed the attention of fans that are obviously waiting for its return in the streaming service.

The rather short 45-second clip premiered on Sunday during NBC's awards program, where Kevin Spacey received his first Globe trophy for portraying the cunning and scheming president Francis "Frank" Underwood.

Spacey's co-lead actor, Robin Wright, meanwhile failed to grab a second Best Performance by an Actress in a TV series award. She did, however, nabbed the recognition for playing the character Claire Underwood last year.

As for the trailer, it seems like things are starting to unravel for the country's first couple. The video opened with a powerful statement from Pres. Underwood saying:

"You wanna know what takes real courage? Holding it all together when the stakes are this high."

Claire, meanwhile, appeared to be a little bit upset telling her husband: "We're murderers, Francis."

To which Frank replied, "We're survivors."

Taking hints from the trailer, several spoiler reports speculated that this could be the most explosive season for the show.

With the "stakes this high," fans are wondering how Frank would "survive" as new challenges are coming up his way. It has to be noted that things will never be the same for him as his most trusted, go-to Chief of Staff Doug (Michael Kelly) is already out of the picture.

Frank and Claire will also have to deal with some loose ends like that of Rachel's (Rachel Brosnahan) disappearance. Their marriage is also hinted to be tearing apart. Career-wise, international issues with the Russian government seem to be heavily highlighted in the trailer. Does this mean that Frank would be responsible for any major world conflicts to happen?

All questions will be answered when "House of Cards" Season 3 premieres on Feb. 27 on Netflix.
