'House of Cards' Season 3 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood to Lose Presidency?

Filming for the third season of the hit political drama TV series "House of Cards" is reported to have already been finished and its premiere episode is ready to kick off in the coming months.

While there haven't been any concrete details on what to expect when the popular show returns to the small screens, recent rumors indicated that there will be a big twist in Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) political career. Will he remain to be the president of the United States or will there be circumstances that may force him to lose the country's highest position?

In a report by Enstarz.com, they cited the latest social media update posted by the show's official Twitter account. It simply says: "Nothing is permanent."

The media outlet speculated that if this statement directly implies to the power Underwood is currently holding, "it would mean that something might stymie his term as President and thicken the plot of the show."

"Perhaps some accusation or some of his indiscretions and murders he committed might finally catch up to him putting him in a tough spot, which could demand a resignation of him," the site stated.

Meanwhile, E! Online's Spoiler Chat revealed some meaty details on who will be appearing when the show returns.

The publication indicated that the upcoming season will feature new faces in DC. Although it's not clear whether they'd be a friend or foe, they revealed, however, that fans will meet a certain Dr. Buzdar. The character is in her 40s and is described as a "very smart" individual.

There's also a Russian man who goes by the name of Anto Ivonovich, a "formidable" and "refined" character who will recur throughout the season.

As for Spacey's Underwood, the 55-year-old actor spoke with E! News to reveal that producers Beau Willimon and David Fincher have a "desire to see just how dark that well is and how deep does it go," in reference to his character.

As previously reported, "House of Cards" season 3 will return to Netflix on Feb. 27, 2015.
