'House of Cards' Season 4 Cast News, Plot Spoilers: Janine Skorsky Determined to Bring The Underwoods Down

The latest season of the hit political drama series "House of Cards" saw Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood undergoing a lot of pressing issues but the cunning politician is determined never to give in to the fight, at least until the next season.

Recent casting news indicated that a character from Season 1 and 2 will be returning in the upcoming chapter of the said Netflix show with one intention in mind -- to bring the U.S. President down.

A report from The Hill said that cast member Constance Zimmer has confirmed that her character Janine Skorsky is still alive in Ithaca.

The "rough-talking cynical journalist and former White House correspondent for a top newspaper" fled in safety after the murder of her colleague Zoe Barnes (played by Kate Mara). Meanwhile, another Underwood critic-journalist, Lucas Goodwin (Sebastian Arcelus), is currently incarcerated for cyberterrorism charges.

Zimmer, in her interview with the publication, sees her character as a catalyst that could "ultimately hold Underwood accountable" for the crimes he committed.

"Someone has to bring down that f----r," she said.

Another character that has been speculated to challenge Underwood is none other than his wife. A report from Realty Today cited an April 13 issue of OK! Magazine wherein they interviewed Robin Wright, the actress who played Frank's wife, Claire.

In the conversation, Wright seems to suggest that she could topple over her husband's reign and have herself become the new female president.

"We need a female President. Women are very communal ... Men can get combative in a group setting, and that's why nothing gets done. So why not try a new way of thinking," the actress said.

It remains to be seen how the downfall of the ambitious Democrat from South Carolina will be played. Meanwhile, current reports indicated that production for the fourth season of "House of Cards" will commence this June and will premiere on Netflix this February 2016.
