'House of Cards' Season 4 Cast News, Update: Actress Neve Campbell Signed to Series Regular Role

The upcoming fourth season of Netflix's critically-acclaimed online streaming series "House of Cards" is now adding a new mysterious character to be played by actress Neve Campbell.

A report from Deadline.com indicated that the "Party of Five" star has joined the cast as a new series regular. Not much has been known about Campbell's character although, it was reported earlier by TV Line that the 4th installment of the flagship show would introduce a "new, younger couple" that could emerge to challenge Kevin Spacey's Frank and Robin Wright's Claire Underwood in the upcoming election.

Aside from "Po5", the actress has also appeared in leading roles for the popular "Scream" film franchise and is also slated to star in the second season of the NBC comedy "Welcome to Sweden."

It remains to be seen as to what part of the storyline Campbell will sit in. Regardless of which, the new chapter of the show will deal with the declarations made by Claire towards the end of Season 3. It was also heard on the streets that the Underwood partnership is now heading to a possible break-up.

Filming for "HoC" Season 4 is expected to commence this summer in and around Baltimore area and is expected to return to Netflix's streaming list by 2016, the site said.

Show creator Beau Willimon meanwhile gave his words in an interview last year as to how they approach each season of the show.

"The way I approach each season is, "let's not keep any great ideas in reserve – let's use them all. By the time it's the end of the season, we have no more ideas – in some ways, no idea how to keep the show going. We might have some notions of where it can go. [But] treat every season as though it's your last, don't hold anything back," the executive producer said.
