Houston Rockets Roster News 2015: Terrence Jones Returns to Practice

Jones was out due to a bruised rib.

The Houston Rockets' problems in the power forward position seem to be getting some daylight after it was revealed that Terrence Jones resumed practice after missing a significant amount of practice time due to a rib injury.

Earlier reports revealed that Jones missed as much as three practices due to a problem in his torso – giving rise to talks of a thin frontline for the Rockets.

However, it has been revealed that the University of Kentucky product has returned to play and seems to be getting back to normal.

Team head coach Kevin McHale spoke to reporters about Jones' recovery and participation in practice. He had good words to say about his player.

When asked about Jones' performance, McHale said: "Like T.J. Amazingly, he didn't change a lot."

This comes as excellent news as the Rockets have relied on young players like Sam Dekker and Montrezl Harrell during practices to fill up the position since Donatas Motiejunas is still trying to get back to his form.

Motiejunas had back surgery during the summer and seems like he has a long way back before he can return to the squad as he has yet to run.

McHale spoke of D-Mo's situation and said: "That's the big test, you've got to start running, then you got to start running with other people, then you got to start banging. You know all that stuff, but the start of it is running, once you start running you're getting closer."

This makes Jones' return all the more important for the team as he can also be used as a back-up for center Dwight Howard who cannot simply take all the minutes in the middle of the court.

In his three years with the Rockets, Jones has averaged 11.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
