Houston Rockets Rumors, News: Patrick Beverley to Be Traded This Off-Season? Rockets Need Healthier PG
The Houston Rockets could have been were the Warriors are now -- the NBA Finals -- if only they were healthy.
And one of the key players who was absent for Houston was starting point guard Patrick Beverley. He may not be a pass-first or scoring point guard, but he is definitely an elite defender in his position.
If he were completely healthy in the Golden State-Houston series, he could have shut down league MVP Steph Curry just like what Cavs guard Matthew Dellavedova is doing for the past two games.
According to a report by Christian Today, those reasons could be the final straw for team GM Daryl Morey, who may place Beverley in the trading list. In the report, a possible landing spot could be Dallas, who will be missing a back-up point guard after Rajon Rondo's departure.
So who will take Beverley's place as starting point guard? The report states that Houston could sign Jeremy Lin once more, now that he is an unrestricted free agent. Lin could be a step down defensively, but in terms of offensive mindset and court vision, the former Harvard standout could be a good replacement.
Another important thing is that Lin has not suffered any serious injuries in a long time.
