The Rockets are filled with stars as players like Dwight Howard and Ty Lawson are expected to put up impressive numbers for the season.

However, the biggest star of them all is James Harden as last year's MVP runner-up will look to prove to everyone that he is the best player in the league today.

The bearded one will be the team's main focus on the offensive end and expect him to produce numbers against the Mavericks.

On the other hand, the Mavs have revamped their line-up a bit as new players like Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews and Zaza Pachulia have come in to help the squad.

However, it will still be Dirk Nowitzki's team and the German forward is looking to try and reach the playoffs again while he still has a window to cap off his legendary career.

Both teams already have a game under their belts in the season – and unfortunately, both suffered defeats.

The Mavs lost 96-86 to the Denver Nuggets with Charlie Villanueva producing 18 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort.

John Jenkins also came up big in the match as the guard had 16 points but committed seven turnovers in the game.

Meanwhile, the Rockets lost 92-89 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Trevor Ariza was the team's high-point man with 12 points in 21 minutes on the floor, while Harden only managed 11 points as he shot 4-of-11 from the field.

Corey Brewer was a spark from the bench with 11 points as the Rockets now turn to Dallas for their first win.
