Houston recently beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 115-112 behind James Harden's 41 points.

As he went head-to-head with fellow MVP candidate Russell Westbrook, Harden sank 55 percent of his shot attempts while also grabbing six rebounds and six assists. Dwight Howard dominated the paint with 22 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds in only 23 minutes on the floor.

That win gave the Rockets their seventh in their last eight matches, including wins over tough teams like the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have peaked at the right moment and have dominated their opponents as the playoffs loom.

They started off their winning streak against the Thunder and also thrashed them in their most recent meeting.

However, their most impressive performance in the streak has been against the Golden State Warriors as they showed their class by dominating the team with the best record in the league.

For the head-to-head battles of San Antonio and Houston this year, the teams have split their first two meetings so far.

The first went the way of the Rockets as they won 98-81 at home behind 32 points from Howard. Corey Joseph was San Antonio's top scorer with 18 points as he shot 82% from the field in a losing effort.

The Spurs got their revenge in their second meeting, winning 110-106 with Danny Green leading the charge with 24 points. Tim Duncan added 16 as they capitalized on Houston's poor shooting from the free throw line.

After this third meeting, the two teams are set to lock horns again on the 10th of this month.
