Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals will take place in an NFL Wild Card Playoff game on Saturday afternoon. The Texans will be disappointed to have to go through the wild card game after the season they've had, but it is all about getting the job done from here on in. The game is scheduled to start at 4.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Texans were 11-1 after their 24-10 win at Tennessee on Dec. 2, and with just four weeks of the regular season to go they looked certain to clinch a playoff first round bye. However, a worrying slump in form over the final weeks of the season saw them lose three of their final four games to result in them finishing 12-4 and in the wild card game.
Probably more worrying than having to play the wild card game is the huge loss of form for the Texans. Over the final four weeks they slid to a huge 14-42 loss against the New England Patriots, as well as slumping to a 6-23 loss against Minnesota and a 16-28 loss to Indianapolis.
If they cannot break their slide immediately their Super Bowl dreams are sure to come to an end today.
The Bengals oppositely ended the season with a fine run of form, winning four of their last five, with their only loss coming in a tough 19-20 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Cincinnati won their final three games of the regular season against Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and they perhaps will come into this game with a bit more momentum than the Texans - unthinkable just a month ago.
The Texans will be looking towards Arian Foster for a big game today. On rush he has gone 1,424 yards for 15 touchdowns this season, and if he can put a big game in today it would go a long way in getting the result the Texans crave.
Meanwhile the quarterback battle today will be intriguing with Andy Dalton vs Matt Schaub sure to greatly influence the outcome. Dalton has gone 329 from 528 for 3,669 yards and 27 touchdowns this season. Whereas Schaub has gone 350 from 544 for 4,008 yards and 22 touchdowns.
This will be a huge AFC battle today, and with the recent turnover in form between the two teams this game is anyone's for the taking.
