Many will be tuning in to see Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt face off against Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady. Watt is considered by many to be the best defensive player in the NFL this year, and he will be pitting himself against one of the leading contenders for the Most Valuable Player of the year in Brady. It will be an intriguing match up between the two quality players, and is exactly the kind of face off that fans watch Monday Night Football for.

The Texans have long since guaranteed their place in the playoffs, and have been near perfect this season so far. They come into this game with a record of 11-1, but will face one of the only teams that most pundits would say could give the Texans a run for their money. The Patriots have cemented their place as one of the best teams in the AFC season after season and they will pose one of the biggest challenges the Texans have faced so far this season.

The Patriots, although not able to boast of as good a record as the Texans, have still been hugely impressive this season. They come into this game top of the AFC East with a record of 9-3, and will be confident of becoming only the second team to take down the Texans this season by taking them on the road in what will surely be an intensive atmosphere in New England.

If the playoffs started today the Texans would be seeded number 1 in the AFC, and the Patriots would be number 2. However, there are still games to go and if the Patriots can get a win today they would move to within a game of their AFC rivals with three games to go in the regular season.

The Patriots are one of the most exciting teams in the NFL this season and in terms of scoring and yardage they are set up to go all the way this season. The Patriots are averaging an amazing 35.8 points per game (compared to 29.2 points per game for the Texans). New England is also recording 426.2 yards per game on average, compared to 389.6 yards for the Texans.

Tom Brady has been one of the main reasons for that explosive offense, posting 3,537 yards for 25 touchdowns this season. The Texans will be desperate to pressure Brady and cut off the supply to both Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski, who between them have scored 14 touchdowns this season.
