Speculations from Entertainment Weekly suggested that Harden's character would likely be an attorney who will represent the person that killed Sam Keating, Professor Annalise's (Viola Davis) husband. Major spoilers indicated that Keating's cheating husband will be brutally murdered in the succeeding episodes.

For whatever her role may be, the 55-year-old's character story will arc over multiple episodes.

The "Miller's Crossing" star appeared in the short-lived comedy "Trophy Wife" with Bradley Whitford and Malin Akerman.

Her recent TV appearances also included "The Newsroom," "Damages," and "Law and Order: SVU." She will also play as Christian Grey's mother in the upcoming "50 Shades of Grey" movie.

She has won her first Oscar trophy for the role of Lee Krasner in the 2000 movie "Pollock." Three years after in "Mystic River," Harden was once again recognized by other major award-giving bodies like the Central Ohio Film Critics Association, Boston Society of Film Critics, and the Seattle Film Critics.

She is represented by ICM Partners, Framework Entertainment and Schreck Rose Dapello & Adams.

"How to Get Away With Murder" airs every Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
