'How to Get Away with Murder' season 2 news, cast, spoilers: Viola Davis talks about complicated and fascinating premiere; new cast member confirmed

The return of "How to Get Away with Murder" is definitely one of the most-awaited events on TV this fall. After a very successful first season, many got hooked on the show and can't wait to see how Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, and the infamous Keating 5, will handle the consequences of all their actions.

Davis recently had an interview with Deadline, in which she was asked about any updates on the show and she replied, "One thing I can share with you is it starts off with a bang." She also added, "A lot of the mysteries will be solved and answered, and then absolutely a new one will be presented. It's just so complicated and fascinating, and that happens in the first episode." One of the mysteries to be solved that she might be referring to is Rebecca Sutter's (Katie Findlay) death, which was the huge cliff-hanger last season. Davis also confirms that Rebecca will again be seen next season but only as part of flashbacks.

One of the big news about the show is the addition of a new character. Variety reports that Amy Okuda has been cast in a recurring role this season. However, as to what this role will be like, no details have been confirmed. It is no surprise that her identity is not being revealed as show creator Shonda Rhimes is keeping everything under wraps as much as possible.

Okuda has guest starred in Rhimes' other shows such as "Grey's Anatomy," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Californication," and "The Middle." She will be joining other new actors set to play recurring roles, including "X-Men" star Famke Janssen, "The Vampire Diaries" alum Kendrick Sampson, and "Supernatural" actor Matt Cohen.

How to Get Away with Murder season 2 will premiere on Sept. 24 on ABC.
