'How to Get Away With Murder' Premiere Live Stream, Spoilers, ABC Start Time: A Fitting Addition to the 'ShondaLand Portfolio'

"How to Get Away With Murder," ABC's newest show from "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" executive producer Shonda Rhimes, will now kick off for its first season with its pilot episode this Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.

Created by "Grey's Anatomy" series co-writer Peter Nowalk, HTGAWM (or simply "Murder") will feature actress and two-time Academy Award nominee Viola Davis as Annalise Keating. Keating is a criminal law professor at a prestigious Philadelphia university who "cherry-picks a handful of elite students to vie for a gig at her tony law firm," according to TVLine.

It will also star "Sons of Anarchy" actor Billy Brown as Nate Lahey and "Scandal" actress Liza Weil as Bonnie Winterbottom.

"[Nowalk's] created this incredible group of characters who become intertwined both in plot and emotionally, and that certainly fits in with the rest of our shows," executive producer Betsy Beers said.

Beers also shared her enthusiasm of the new and upcoming show by saying, "Murder" "is going to be twisty and turny in its own way because it's going to be Pete's way. He's really interested in playing with time, and he has a really, really, really good brain for the procedural."

An exciting addition to the "ShondaLand portfolio," "Murder" shares some similar characteristics of the other Shonda shows.

"Murder crackles with rat-a-tat dialogue, larger-than-life characters, outrageously tangled narratives and a rainbow coalition of a cast led, as with 'Scandal,' by an African-American actress," The Star said. "The Murder heroine is driven, charismatic and diabolical, even more so, arguably, than Scandal cleanup queen Olivia Pope (played by Kerry Washington)."
