'How To Get Away With Murder' Updates: Singer Mary Blige joins Season 3 with stars Madigan, Morales

How to Get Away With Murder Season 3 includes Grammy Award winner, singer Mary Blige in their list of cast

Queen of Hip Hop Soul and Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige will join the string of stars in How to Get Away with Murder Season 3.

This news was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly last Wednesday. According to the report, details of Blige's role are not yet unveiled. However, the exclusive preview released by the makers of the series gave a hint about an unknown culprit who spread Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) photo all over the campus, with a "Killer" tag. With this, it may be possible that Blige's character has to do something about the mysteries behind the series' new plot twist.

Blige already had her fair share of on-screen acting experiences. In fact, she already earned a Critics' Choice TV Award nomination for her portrayal of the character Evelline in The Wiz, an NBC live production. Blige also made an appearance in the film titled Mudbound, with co-stars Carey Mulligan, Jason Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, and Jason Clarke. She also starred on hip hop soap ops 30 Rock and Empire.

Blige has been making waves in the music industry since 1993. Since then, she has been strong-willed to attain the things she wanted to achieve. With HTGAWM including her in the lineup, she may be making a definitive decision of changing her career path, from being a sole music producer into a singer-actress.

Who else are on Season 3?

Aside from Blige, Amy Madigan is also one the series' guests in Season 3. Madigan has already joined 78 TV and film productions since 1981. She appeared on several popular series such as Grey's Anatomy, Saving Grace, Criminal Minds, Law and Order, among others.

Also included in the list of HTGAW's guest stars is Producer, Director, and Actor Esai Morales, who made TV and movie appearances since 1982. He appeared on CSI: Miami, Major Crimes, and From Dusk Till Dawn.

Regular Casts Viola Davis, Liza Weil, Alfred Enoch, Charlie Weber, Jack Falahee, Karla Souza, Katie Findlay, Matt McGorry and Aja Naomi King defied the series' thrilling and suspenseful theme by doing a quirky, dance-y teaser on Facebook last August 22, a month away from HTGAWM's season premiere.

It's probably the makers and casts' way of helping the fans shake off their weariness acquired from the long wait of anticipation.

HTGAWM's Official Facebook Page also gave away a hint on what's about to stir the third season. It's a clip containing Keating's mysterious line, "I'm not the woman you think I am."
