HP Introduces Jet Fusion Tech in New 3D Printers
The 3D printers are designed for large-scale manufacturing, with testing courtesy of some of the biggest brands in their respective industries already underway.
A new generation of 3D printers is coming your way, with giant info-tech company HP unveiling a couple of its new products that come with jet fusion technology. These printers, according to HP, are going to be at least 10 times faster than competing brands and are also going to be more practical to operate.
In A USA Today report, the company announced that the new products are particularly designed for large-scale manufacturing, with testing courtesy of some of the biggest brands in their respective industries already underway. Nike, Johnson & Johnson and BMW are currently doing some tests with the high-end Multi-Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solution, according to HP's in-charge of 3D printing, Stephen Nigro.
Although HP is one of the first companies to produce printers, it seemed to have slowed down and gave way to competitors when it came to 3D printing. In fact, the decision to join the 3D printing business was announced just two years ago, with everyone else already making huge strides in gaining a huge chunk of the market.

Major Companies Explore Integration
One of the first to join the tests of the new 3D printers and with plans for integration is luxury car manufacturer BMW. In an interview with BBC, BMW's head of Group Additive Manufacturing Center Jens Ertel said that German company is looking at integrating the printing system with their future production of serial parts as well as personal customization.
Nike Inc. on the other hand, wants to utilize 3D printing for "performance innovations" of its footwear line, according to Tom Clarke, the company's president for innovation.
HP further explained that with the multi-jet fusion technology, the printers are capable of producing the highest quality of prototypes, with observers saying that such an innovation could lead to groundbreaking changes in the market. But just like any innovation in technology, the printers still have a limit, which in this case is the fact that they only are capable of printing in one type of material and one color.
