HTC Desire 510 Review: Specs, Features, Price Overview

One of HTC's newest and most affordable smartphones is the HTC Desire 510. This device is also the first Android smartphone to ship with a 64-bit processor, and while it promises a fast 4G connection, the phone has other features that make it a good starter phone, and it also is serviceable enough for those on a tight budget.

The HTC Desire 510 measures 5.51 x 2.75 x 0.39 inches and weighs 5.57 ounces. It comes in a matte navy blue, black, or white finish and its body is framed by strips of plastic at the top and bottom. It has a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480, which could certainly need some improvement as images tend to look lackluster and grainy, even when viewed in favorable lighting conditions.

The screen is even harder to view when outdoors. The Desire 510 also does not have HTC's signature front-facing speaker—instead, its speaker is mounted at the back.

The Desire 510 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and runs on the Android 4.4. The one thing that users will probably have an issue with this device is the phone's low internal storage, which is only 4GB, and only 0.84GB is available to its users out of the box.

However, storage can be expanded through a microSD slot, which one can access by taking off the phone's back.

The phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, and while it doesn't compare to other smartphones' cameras, it does support 1080p video recording.

The HTC Desire 510 costs $99.99 off contract from Boost Mobile and is free with contract from Sprint.
