HTC Desire 728G Launched in India, Features 5.5-Inch TFT Display, 13 MP Rear Camera

HTC on Monday officially released a mid-range smartphone dubbed as the Desire 728G in India. According to Tech 2, the Desire 728G is a dual-SIM smartphone sold at a price of Rs 17,990. Interested buyers can choose from the two color variants available, Purple Myst and White Luxury.

The device comes with a 5.5-inch TFT display with a 1280x720 pixel resolution. Under its hood, one will be able to find the MediaTek MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It is coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and carries 16 GB of internal storage. Users can opt to have it expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.

NDTV Gadgets noted that the handset runs with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. Taking photos is made possible with the 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera which comes along with a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It's also capable of 1080 p video-recording. Meanwhile, the front panel is equipped with a 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera.

Moreover, the newly launched smartphone also supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and sports a micro-USB 2.0 port. The Indian Express detailed that it also features the HTC BoomSound with Dolby Audio and a dual microphone. And with a battery capacity of 2800 mAh, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer claims that users of the Desire 728G can be assured of up to 26 hours of talk time on 2G and 485 hours of standby time on 3G. The smartphone is not capable of 4G though. Other features installed into the device include a Motion G sensor, Compass Sensor, Proximity and Ambient Light sensor.

During the launch, HTC South Asia President Faisal Siddiqui said that the new HTC Desire 728G Dual SIM comes with a unique design that brings users a great value smartphone.

"We want to provide a powerful, fully customisable experience to our customers, and the HTC Desire 728G Dual SIM brings this in abundance," said Siddiqui.
