HTC Desire 820 Release Date, Review: Octa-Core Smartphone Destined to Amped Up Your Selfie Game

The previous HTC Desire 816 smartphone may have flew under the radar in most of the western countries like the U.S. and U.K. However, it went well within the Asian region particularly in India and China. With its plastic case, but a solid design and full features, it became a go-to for those users who are looking for low to mid-range priced handsets.

But that has yet to change as the Taiwanese tech giant later on reiterated the Desire line with its newly-launched HTC Desire 820. And it is now set to surely catch any smartphone user's attention with a more powerful processor and camera, as well as better build.

Unveiled in September, the HTC Desire 820 is reported to hit the shelves later this month or earlier November, as the article from IB Times indicated.

Features
The HTC Desire 820 features a phablet-like wide 5.5-inch LCD of 720 x 1,280 pixel (267 ppi) display resolution. As Gadgets.NDTV reviewed the device, they said that the colors "looked vibrant and were reproduced well."

"Viewing angles were not a problem either," the tech site continued.

Its distinctive curved edges give the device a good overall feel and grip. Weighing just around 155 grams, the Desire 820 weighs lighter by 10 grams compared to its predecessor.

Its performance is something to reckon with as well. The new HTC Desire has a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC and is integrated with 4G LTE connectivity. It has 16GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Of course, the aforementioned camera stat is also quite a stunner. It now has a high-power 8-MP front facing camera with backside illumination in the sensor.

"I'll admit it's a great camera. I abhor the current craze, but there's no denying it's a thing and brands should follow consumer desires, and give you quick and clear photos," Tech Radar said in their review. "The front facing camera is powerful and likely to win a lot of admirers, and the software tweaks on offer are impressive and fun to play with."

For its rear camera, it has 13-megapixel back-facing snapper with an f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and BSI Sensor.
