HTC has leaked an image of what appears to be lens add-ons for the camera on its next generation M7 smartphone.

The company posted the picture onto its Twitter account towards the end of last week. Judging from the image, it can be seen that the device will feature a camera that will be compatible with the lenses made by Canon.

HTC could launch the lenses alongside the smartphone which is rumored to be unveiled this Tuesday. However, neither release has been officially confirmed. The lens attachment in the picture would officially transform the smartphone into a DLR camera.

HTC also released its 'Iris' teaser image last week.

The picture is of a huge eye and it features great definition focusing directly into the iris. This could be hinting towards a device with a 1080p display or a camera capable of taking pictures at this high quality.

HTC's event will take place on Tuesday.

The handset is expected to be an extremely impressive device that features several industry firsts. HTC will also replace the One X with the M7, making it the new flagship device for the company.

These firsts include specs that rival and top away many of the handsets currently available in the market, such as a 4.7-inch display with a pixel density of 468 ppi and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a second generation 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal flash storage, and LTE connectivity.

However, the 4.7-inch screen size is still just a rumor, as NDTV is reporting that the handset could end up with a 5-inch display when it is released. The device is expected to be full HD (1080p) like its predecessors, the DNA and Butterfly.

The camera on the M7 is said to have some major improvements from previous HTC devices. It will come with a 1080p 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 1080p front camera.
