The leak reveals that the smartphone will not feature the Snapdragon 805 chip it was rumored to have. The megapixels for the rear camera also were not confirmed here. An older rumor stated that it will come with a 4-Ultrapixel camera like the version found on the HTC One.

A new concept video for the handset was released last month.

Techradar posted up a two minute clip that shows what the smartphone could end up looking like based on some of the recent leaks and rumors. The design is pretty similar to the original, however, the new model features a slimmer frame and an edge-to-edge display.

The new HTC smartphone could be released as early as Feb. 2014.

A judge ruling in a Nokia vs. HTC case in the U.K. accidentally revealed the release date for the successor to the company's 2013 flagship device.

"HTC is close to launching the successor flagship model to the HTC One," said the judge in the filing. "HTC has not revealed the launch date. Nokia has adduced evidence which suggests that the launch date is in the first quarter of 2014, and possibly as early as February 2014."
