HTC One A9 release date & updates: leaked image show resemblance to iPhone 6s, specs detailed

The rumored upcoming smartphone of HTC has caught the attention of a number of people and they are eager to find out more about it. They are specifically looking into the HTC One A9, which is also codenamed as Hima Aero. Fortunately, leaked information and photos are giving techies a heads up of what may come to the much-rumored handset.

Previous reports have publicized that the rumored smartphone appears like an iPhone rip-off. It was first noted when a leaked image by none other than serial leaker Evan Blass showed that the smartphone has curved corners and a white plastic strip at the top and at the bottom.

It resembled the iPhone 6s except for the little differences which include the location of the camera and the logo. The HTC One A9 rear camera is placed on the center while the Apple device comes with a snapper at the top-left corner.

Later on, another image of the rumored smartphone surfaced in China's popular Weibo. According to Tech Times, the latest leak now depicts a live image of the alleged device and provides a more detailed look at the design of the front panel.

As seen on the photo, the front panel is parallel to the previous leaked images. It is a mid-range handset that will reportedly feature a 5-inch display, with a Full HD AMOLED and screen resolution of 1080x1920. It comes with a physical home button, which will most likely function as a fingerprint reader, and a volume button position on the right side.

NDTV Gadgets reported that the One A9 may be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC with eight Cortex A-53 cores, and will be coupled with 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of inbuilt storage. It will sport a 13-megapixel primary camera with a Sony sensor while the selfie snapper will be a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front camera. Sources say that the HTC One A9 can potentially be one of the first smartphones that will be launched with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

Its launch date isn't clear yet but rumors say that it may be unveiled on Sept 29. However, other reports say that it is scheduled to be released by October.
