HTC One M9 MWC 2015 News: Leaks Reveal 2 M9 Variants

Probably one of the most interesting smartphones that runs on Android, the upcoming HTC One M9 is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 MWC in Barcelona.

However, long before it sees the light, a horde of rumors and leaks pointing out to the forthcoming flagship from HTC were seen over the course of months. Information about its specs, pricings, and designs were all but taken with a grain of salt. But that might not be the case today.

A tipster told @upleaks revealed "more thorough details" about the device which, as found out, will come in two versions: the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9 Plus.

As stated by the tipster, both the M9 and the M9 Plus will have similar specs in terms of hardware but would only differ when it comes to display, processor, and cameras.

"The HTC One M9 has a 5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, 20.7-megapixel camera, 4-megapixel Ultrapixel front-facing camera, BoomSound, Bluetooth 4.1, microSD support, VoLTE and LTE Cat. 6 support, 2,840 mAh battery and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 on top," the insider said.

When compared to the larger variant, the M9 Plus will feature a bigger 5.2-inch display with "higher WQHD resolution" and a fingerprint sensor which can be found on the front. Moreover, the said device will also be shipped in two different processors (probably depending on the region) – the Snapdragon 810 and the MTK MT6795, both are 64-bit octa-core processors.

But for those who want to witness the official announcement of the devices right in the comfort of their homes, HTC announced that they will be livestreaming the event through this site.

The livestream event will kick off March 1 at 10 a.m. ET/ 7 a.m. PT.
