The carrier also talked up the Galaxy Note 3 competitor quite a bit and will begin selling HTC's answer to the phablet for the same price on-contract. Sprint customers looking to purchase the device could do so through Best Buy. Sprint is only taking pre-registrations at this time.

HTC issued a press release that revealed everything about the HTC One Max last month.

"The addition of the HTC One Max means that we now have an HTC One phone for everyone. The family has been built on quality and game-changing innovations and the HTC One max is certainly no exception," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. "The upgrade of HTC Sense 5.5 will provide our most amazing mobile experience yet, with the HTC One max delivering the size and power required to do everything you want, and more, without compromise."

The HTC One Max comes with a 5.9-inch Full HD 1080p display, a 1.7GHx Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5, 16/32GH of internal memory, 2GB RAM, microSD slot, a 3300 mAh battery and HTC BoomSound Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers.

The long-rumored fingerprint scanner for the device was also confirmed by HTC.

"A new Fingerprint Scan feature takes convenience to a new level while acclaimed features including HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound, combined with the new HTC Sense 5.5, which are all enhanced to continue to deliver the best overall smartphone experience, now on a larger screen," wrote HTC in the press release.
