Huawei to Launch Honor Play 5X, Features 5-inch Display, 13MP Camera, Quad-core MediaTek

It's only been a week since Huawei unveiled their smartphone flagship, the 5.7-inch Nexus 6P phablet, to the public during Google's Nexus event in California. But the Chinese tech company isn't stopping as it is reported to launch another device this coming weekend.

According to Latin Post, Huawei is gearing up to reveal the highly speculated Honor Play 5X smartphone. This was reported after the company's official Weibo account posted a launch teaser. They have also been sending out media invites for its own event that will take place this coming Oct. 10 in Beijing. International Business Times noted that aside from the Honor Play 5X, they will also launch the P9 in two variants—LTE and Deluxe.

The invitations sent out did not contain any information regarding the product but thanks to previous reports, attendees and expectants already have an idea of what is to be unveiled. As reported by NDTV Gadgets, Honor Play 5X features a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display with 294 ppi pixel density. Recently certified by Chinese regulator TENAA, the handset is expected to be a low to mid-range model. Its price isn't revealed yet but it's guessed to cost around $158.
