Hulk Hogan has recently been engulfed in controversy after a controversial tape was leaked showing him in a compromising situation. The leak has now led to the wrestler to file a lawsuit against a DJ, thought to be his best friend, new reports have claimed on Monday.
The wrestler turned reality TV star is said to be suing Tampa Bay-based disc jockey, DJ Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem, the DJ's ex-wife, as well as a New York-based media group, thought to be Gawker, over a tape that allegedly shows him in a sexual encounter with his friend's ex-wife.
Hulk Hogan's publicist has put out a news release on Monday apparently confirming that two lawsuits being filed will be discussed at a quickly arranged news conference on Monday afternoon.
The news conference is set to take place in Tampa near the federal courthouse.
Hogan has claimed that he was secretly taped without his permission having a sexual encounter with the ex-wife of his best friend, DJ Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem.
The taping allegedly took place six years ago, but has only just now been revealed publicly.
Sections of the video were recently posted on Internet celebrity gossip site Gawker, which show Hulk Hogan with Heather Clem.
Gawker has been sent a cease and desist letter from Hogan's representatives to stop any distribution or streaming of the damaging video, and the site is now thought to be the target of Hogan's legal action.
It was previously thought that Hogan's best friend, Bubba, could have leaked the video, as he can allegedly be seen at the end of the film telling Clem that the footage could be worth a lot of money, according to celebrity news site TMZ.
After hearing the news that his friend could have been involved, Hogan suggested that he was ready to discard his long term friendship with DJ Bubba.
"If you had anything to do with this, that means we were never friends," he said according to TMZ.
If the lawsuits are confirmed as being filed in the news conference later today they will have been filed in the name of Terry Bollea, which is Hulk Hogan's real name.
