'Hunter x Hunter' Chapter 361 Rumors: 2017 Release Still Uncertain but There May Be Reason to Hold Out Hope for 2018

'Hunter x Hunter' manga currently on hiatus due to series creator Yoshihiro Togashi's health problems

Chapter 361 of the "Hunter x Hunter" manga is still not here, to the disappointment of many fans all over the world, and what makes things even more frustrating for them is that there is no end date currently known for the ongoing hiatus.

The last time fans received a new chapter of the manga was back in July of last year, and since then, many of these loyal readers have been diligently scouring the web for any traces of an update that could be hinting at when this hiatus may finally end.

At this point, however, there is no solid end date that can be pinned down, making the prospects of a 2017 release for Chapter 361 uncertain at best, but even if this entire year passes by without any new content being made available, there may still be a good reason for fans to maintain their optimism, as 2018 is an important one for "Hunter x Hunter."

As Redditor "wiseoldtabbycat" pointed out recently, 2018 will mark the 20th anniversary of the manga. While there are no guarantees just yet, it still seems very likely that series creator Yoshihiro Togashi and the other people involved with it may want to do something special for that occasion.

Letting the 20th anniversary of the manga go by with the series still on hiatus would also seem to be something that Togashi and the fans will not want to see, and that may be something to keep in mind moving forward.

For now, many fans are still opting to remain optimistic and clinging to hope that they will see Chapter 361 sooner rather than later, perhaps even this year, though only Togashi knows for sure exactly when this lengthy hiatus will meet its end.

More news about the "Hunter x Hunter" manga should be made available in the near future.
