In-N-Out Burgers Come with Side-order of Bible Verses on Almost Every Wrapper

In-N-Out Burger, California's first drive-thru hamburger stand, is known for their highly complimented burgers, clean yet old-fashioned-diner-feel restaurant, and oh yeah—Bible verses on their food wrappers.

Founded in 1948 by a Christian couple, Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California, the In-N-Out chain “remains privately owned and the Snyder family has no plans to take the company public or franchise any units,” according to the family’s website.

This private ownership means the Snyder’s have the freedom to run the restaurant reflecting their belief in God.

From the simple menu of burgers, fries, milkshakes, and soft drinks, In-N-Out surprisingly places Bible scripture notations on the wrappers of many of their food items.

The soda cup bears the notation John 3:16:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The milkshake cup lists Proverbs 3:5:

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

The hamburger and cheeseburger wrappers point to Revelation 3:20:

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The wrap used for the "Double-Double" (two burger patties and two slices of cheese) lists Nahum 1:7:

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

As In-N-Out branches keep spreading like wild fire along the California coast and over to Nevada and Arizona, the restaurant will not only provide its customers with a good hearty burger but also good messages for the heart.
