'Injustice 2' Trailer Leaks Black Adam as New Playable Character

NetherRealm Studios' "Injustice 2" is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fighting games of 2017. And while a new video shows more of the sequel's plot, it has also revealed a new playable character.

In the latest trailer, Supergirl reveals her side of the story. She leaves her destroyed planet in a separate space pod together with who appears to be an infant Superman. As she grows up, she develops a firm sense of justice and compassion, so much that she is able to stand steadfast and relentless against anyone.

While the focus revolves around her, the teaser also showed someone whom everyone got excited to see — Black Adam. He appears out of nowhere and does combat against Supergirl, showing the extent of his powers by sending her hurling toward a pyramid and striking her down with a bolt of lightning.

This immediately got fans attention and has earned much praise. A lot of netizens commented about how badass Black Adam looked, and hoped that what he revealed in the trailer was his ultimate move.

Black Adam is the 25th playable character to join the fray in "Injustice 2." With 13 empty slots left and Darkseid occupying one, fans are definitely looking forward to who else will arrive to make the battle even more momentous.

As far as speculations are concerned, there are clues leading to the belief that some specific characters may be revealed in the future. It can be recalled that NetherRealm Studios co-creative director Ed Boon has conducted surveys on Twitter, in which fans who responded chose Red Hood and the Watchmen as heroes they'd like to see.

With fans still waiting, it won't be a surprise if they are merely preparing things for the mentioned characters to be included. For now, Black Adam's appearance is a welcome addition.

"Injustice 2" arrives on PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One platforms on May 16, 2017.
