'Insidious Chapter 3' News: First Teaser Trailer Released

Horror movie fans are already excited for the upcoming third sequel to the hit supernatural horror film franchise 'Insidious."

Entertainment One recently released a teaser trailer for "Insidious: Chapter 3" with the video provided below.

Directed by franchise co-creater Leigh Whannell, "I:3" is set as a chilling prequel before the haunting of the Haunting family in the first two films. It will follow the characters Elise (Lin Shaye), Tucker (Angus Sampson), and Specs (Whannell) as they went to investigate a certain teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who is being troubled by an entity from the Further.

The trailer has been first released on the official Insidious Movie Facebook page.

"The darkest chapter goes back to the beginning," the video is captioned.

It gathered over 55,000 Likes and more than 70,000 shares. Comments about the teaser are mixed. Some are excited, while others are quite skeptic on how the story will unravel knowing that the film was not helmed by master horror story teller James Wan.

Speculations about how the upcoming title will fare in the ticket sales suggest that it could help the franchise to once again "tread new grounds" after the relatively poor performance of "Insidious: Chapter 2."

As for the release date, ComicBook.com said that "Insidious: Chapter 3' will be released by Focus Features in the U.S. on Friday, May 29, 2015.

For other countries like Canada, the U.K., and Spain, Entertainment One will be the one to distribute the film.

Sony, on the other hand, will be distributing the picture to the rest of the countries.
