From May 3-6, Christian broadcasters from various countries around the world met to discuss the possibilities of uniting to form a global Christian television network, according to Assist News Service.

“God has given tremendous growth in the area of television and radio communications to local, regional, and national networks,” stated Nestor Colombo, former chairman of the Hispanic National Religious Broadcasters (HNRB). “I believe He is bringing so many key leaders together with the same vision to support and empower each other under the direction of the Holy Spirit for even greater things.”

Over several days, broadcasters from the US, UK, Russia, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, and Spain met in Seoul, Korea, and discussed the possibilities of uniting forces to formulate an effective mass media strategy for world evangelism. In the end, participants signed an agreement to work towards uniting their resources and strengths toward forming a global Christian television network.

Colombo commented, “The world is becoming a smaller place, technology is at the forefront, and the stage is now set for ministries to come together to cooperate in the area of mass communications, and specifically television.”

Rev. Igor Y. Nikitin, head of TKV, a Russian Christian TV network added, “We are living in an era of information and as Christians, we have good information – The Good News of Jesus Christ. The commandment from the Lord to all Christians is to spread this message all over the world. He has given us the tools of radio, television and other media to build up unity in the Body of Christ and bless the nations with His love. I welcome this initiative.” Rev. Nikitin is also President of the Association of Christian Churches in Russia.

Pastor David Lozano of La Luz Radio and Television Network and newspaper in Lima, Peru was also among those present. After signing the agreement, he commented, “I believe that today, we have laid forth the foundation that will launch a vision that has been in God’s heart to unite the Christian communicators from around the world.”

Pastor Lozano added, “It is an extraordinary vision to reach all ethnicities, major languages and races around the world with the Gospel. I believe that this has been God’s heart for a long time.”
