International Women's Conference To Be Held November in Bolivia

From November 8-10, invited leaders from seven South American countries will participate in a leadership workshop, covering topics such as project planning, resolving interpersonal conflicts, counseling those affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as Bible study and devotionals. The workshop will follow a four-day conference, November 4-7, where 500 women from South America are expected to attend.

With the theme, “Women Living Pure Lives,” The International Women’s Conference will be held in Bolivia this November following the success of previous years. “Praise God for these women who are linking arms around the globe to seek God's will and wisdom for their communities,” stated a staff member of Serving in Missions (SIM). SIM, one of the organizers of the conference is hoping for the conference to make an impact on churches and families in South America.

The first South American Ladies Conference in October of 1999 was held in Cochabamba, Bolivia, organized by the National Ladies Committee of the church that relates to SIM, Unión Cristiana Evangelica (UCE), and three SIM missionaries. Sixty women working in six South American countries met for five days of Bible study and discussion.
