iOS 11 Release Date Rumors: Apple to Make Siri Far Smarter Than Ever Before

One of the massive upgrades Apple is planning to introduce on the iOS 11 will involve Siri, if the latest report about the next-generation firmware is anything to go by.

Israel-based publication The Verifier is reporting that the Cupertino giant is looking to make its digital assistant smarter than ever. For starters, Siri will reportedly be integrated in both the iMessage and the iCloud.

In the iOS 11, Siri will apparently be able to identify the user's Apple ID-connected devices in iCloud while also offering added connection or control with the Mac and iPhone.

The integration of Siri in the iMessage is expected to work the way Google Assistant does in the Google Allo. Siri will offer help and suggestions based on the context of the conversation.

This context-based understanding of Siri in the iOS 11 extends outside the iMessage and is said to be an all-around feature in the whole software.

The source also claims that the iOS 11 will rival Samsung's newly introduced artificial intelligence (AI)-based assistant, Bixby.

However, the digital assistant yet to show what it has to offer as it will be debuting, albeit an abridged version, in the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8.

Other improvements involving Siri expected on the iOS 11 is its increased integration on platforms like the watchOS and the tvOS, which will reportedly get a greater range of Siri voice commands.

On the watchOS front, Apple is looking to introduce "new possibilities" with the iOS 11 although there is no specific information on what those could be.

Apple fans should learn more about the iOS 11 in the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC set to take place on June 5–9 in San Jose, California.

The tech titan is expected to show the new iOS, the new and improved Siri and the whole host of brand-new features in action.
