iOS 11 Update News: Augmented Reality Support Now Available

Apple's new iOS 11 update enables their patrons to experience augmented reality (AR) through new apps on the iPhone and iPad. Other small but significant updates from the iOS 11 will provide big improvements to Apple gadget users.

The new iOS 11 update was launched last Tuesday, Sept 19, by Apple, and it made AR support available to all Apple smart devices through the ARkit.

Because of this new update, Apple users can now experience augmented reality through newly created apps and create virtual content to be immersed in real-world scenarios. The ARkit elevates user experience especially in interactive games, industrial design, shopping trips, and a lot more.

The AR support is powered by the device's built-in camera, powerful processors, and motion sensors in iOS devices.

There are several apps that Apple users can check out to test how the ARkit works, Techcrunch confirmed.

One of the best AR apps to try is World Brush. It lets you make a drawing pad or coloring book out of any place in the real world. What's best about this app is that whatever is drawn over a place will stay there until the creator deletes it, and it can be seen by others who also have the app.

Another cool AR app is Housecraft, which lets users design their homes or any kind of space with life-sized furniture. The app has a catalogue where users can choose from different types and designs of furniture. Housecraft can simply enhance the way users see their homes or an empty space.

A useful app with AR support is the AR MeasureKit. It allows users to measure objects in the real world without having to do it manually. It also proves to be very accurate in measuring things from the real world.

The iOS 11 update is available for iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.
