iOS 7.1 Beta 2 Release Date Arrives, Official Roll Out Coming Soon

The iOS 7.1 beta 2 release date finally arrived this week as Apple started rolling out the build to developers in recent days.

Apple first began testing the software in the middle of November, and it is being created to fix network connection issues as well as other bugs. The update has the build number 11D5115d and can be downloaded over-the-air or through Apple's developer center website.

It also includes a new Yahoo logo, extra burst model uploading options for the camera, and an option for a "dark keyboard' in the accessibility section.

Some of the bugs that were fixed include one that caused all tones to sound like the default and changing the setting for Touch ID and Passcodes by moving them from General settings to the main settings menu. Calendar has a new list view toggle as well.

The "dark keyboard" option has been removed from accessibility options, but there is a new "Button Shapes" option that can be turned on to indicate where tappable areas are located. Animations are said to be faster and the Control Center gained a new bounce animation and music labels that show the audio source.

iOS 7.1 might also add support for iOS in the Car which provides enhanced integration of the software in compatible automobiles. The beta includes a "Car Display" toggle in the Restrictions Settings panel along with additional iOS in the Car references. This suggests that iOS in the Car could come as early as the beginning of 2014.

The official rollout of iOS 7.1 should be coming sometime in the very near future.

Apple also seeded a new version of the Apple TV beta software with the Xcode 5.1 Developer Preview 2.
