iOS 8 is basically an improvement on iOS 7. However, 2014's WWDC keynote focused on the OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 integration. For one there's the HandOff, which allows users to "start a task on one device" and then finish it off on another. For example, one can finish composing an email that he or she wrote using the iPhone on their Mac.

Referred to as "the biggest release since the launch of the App Store," the new iOS also offer "simpler, faster, and more intuitive ways to use your devices with incredible new features like iCloud Photo Library, a new Messages app, the QuickType keyboard, and an entirely new Health app," Apple's senior VP of Software Engineering Craig Federighi said.

One of the most highlighted features, the "Health" and "Healthkit" gathers data from the user's previous fitness trackers and gadgets – "with your permission" – and then put all the stats in a single interface for a much easier viewing.

Speculations also pointed out that the purported arrival of the new iPhone 6 will have a heart rate, blood pressure, and other health related metric sensors that can go hand in hand with the "Healthkit."

Other notable upcoming features also include Family Sharing, Refined Notification Center, iCloud Drive, manual camera API, Time-Lase Camera Mode, better emailing system and a more in touch Spotlight search system.
