iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 Release Date: October 2014 Being Touted as Likeliest Date

Now that the Apple iPhone 6 is now released, the rumor mill can scratch one Apple device off of their lists and move on to the other devices such as the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad Air 2. The Apple Press Conference on Sept. 9 earlier this month not only unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 6, but also provided some valuable insight on the release of the next iPad Mini and iPad Air.

As for the release dates of these two devices, Apple usually sticks with a yearly release date. The iPad 2 release date for example can just simply be a year after the release of the first iPad Air, which was on October 2013. If Apple follows their habit of releasing devices one year apart, then it would make sense to expect the iPad 2 to come out October this year.

The same goes for the iPad Mini 3. Back in October 2012, the first iPad Mini was revealed followed by its availability the next month. The second iPad Mini (referred to as the Retina Display iPad Mini) was unveiled the same month in 2013. Safe to say, the iPad Mini 3 could also be facing an October announcement this year.

The similar release dates of both devices could lead to an event to be hosted by Apple sometime in October - solely for the purpose of announcing the new iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. The two devices could also share the same retail availability date, probably a month after their initial announcement which point to November.

As for the iPhone 6, reception looks to be solid with thousands of customers lining up at retail stores just to get the Apple flagship phone. Pre-orders have also been strained by the volume of people reserving and placing their orders online.
